Being ignored or turned down is understood as your own uncertainty rather than as information about them.

No tradition claims that dreaming about somebody means they are dreaming about you, and the idea, pleasant as it is, has no support in any interpretive source worth citing. The dream is yours and it is made from your material. What that person represents to you, which might be confidence, safety, a life you imagine, or plain novelty, is where the meaning lives, and it will differ completely from what they represent to anybody else who knows them.
